You will get introduced to your mentor for the course. We will discuss in brief what all this course has to offer, what supplies are needed and how this course is going to give you push in the right direction in your art journey.
Module 1 - Supplies & Setup
We will go in-depth and understand the importance, application and proper use and care of all the supplies that we will use throughout this course.
We will also create a setup that enables you to learn acrylic painting most efficiently.
Module 2 - How to hold & sharpen a pencil properly
Knowing how to hold and sharpen your pencil is as important as having the right supplies for art enthusiasts who are new to sketching and drawing.
Module 3 - Value Scale, Value Cards & Tones
We will make value cards and shade cards for all the different grades of pencils to understand their use and application better.
Module 4 - Basic Drawing Exercises
We will start off with basic drawing exercises which are important to warm up before starting a sketching project. We will practice making vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines.
Module 5 - Adding Texture
We will learn techniques such as blending, burnishing, hatching and creating texture using erasers. We will also do some mini practice exercises to understand their application.
Module 6 - 2D Shapes, Material Texture & Shading
We will practice making basic 2D shapes like circles, squares, triangle etc. We will also practice adding material texture and shading to those shapes.
Module 7 - 3D Shapes, Material Texture & Shading
We will practice making basic 3D shapes like sphere, pyramid, cylinder, half-sphere etc. We will also practice adding material texture and shading to those shapes.
Module 8 - Composition
We will get introduced to importance of composition in a sketch, the rule of thirds, golden ratio and many other related essential aspects of sketching. We will also learn about importance of thumbnail sketches.
We will understand and practice 1-point perspective, 2-point perspective and 3-point perspective by studying various examples and sketching exercises.
Module 10 - BONUS - Simplifying Drawing through Grids
This bonus module will give you some tips and tricks to make your drawing process simpler by using the grid method while working on complex or large-scale sketching projects.
Module 11 - Introduction to Still Life Sketching
We will learn still life sketching, understand the relation between various objects in a composition and also understand how negative space can be used in a composition effectively.
